Piggy-back Type Hatch Cover

Characteristic of weather deck hatch covers of piggy-back type is the stowage method, one panel on top of the other, as the name suggests. This type of stowing allows side and end stowing solutions. Side stowing arrangement allows the package of panels to be stowed at port or starboard side eliminating any interference with cargo. End stowing arrangement is often applied for the movement of the stowed panels in the fore and aft direction allowing any kind of sequence opening.
